Briefly....

Julie Blodgett, goat superintendent, started the day with a short presentation on what 4-H projects need to know for Fair. Click on the link above to view the notes as a PDF document.

Next, Dr. Judy Marteniuk, MSU Veterinarian, gave a presentation that expressed the importance of knowing what is normal for your goat. Know the vital parameters but also observe your goat enough that you know what is normal behaviour. In addition she gave an overview of parasites and diseases from the perspective of looking at possible causes of various common issues (such as diahrea, weight loss, etc) in goats.

Next, the Quiz Bowl Team had a mini-skillathon event for ages 5-11 and ages 12-18. The Jr. group all received participation prizes. The Sr. group was a competitive event with Callina Mills taking 1st place and Forrest Mills taking 2nd place. Congratulations to everyone who participated!
